Much of the upstairs of ‘Nuns’ has been renovated and now boasts a large, light, open plan kitchen/dining/lounge room decorated in a relaxed, coastal style with plenty of white paint and limed timber floorboards. The new kitchen with breakfast bar is fully equipped, with stainless steel Fisher & Paykel appliances. There’s a refectory style dining table seating 10, and in the lounge area, a stunning feature gas log fireplace and a 34 inch flat screen Sony TV/DVD player.

Nuns Beach House is two-storey, but there are no internal stairs. You may rent just upstairs, or upstairs and downstairs (you will never share ‘Nuns’ with another party if you rent upstairs only). Downstairs is never rented on its own, it’s just overflow accommodation. There are 4 bedrooms upstairs, sleeping a maximum of 8 people and 2 bedrooms downstairs, sleeping a maximum of 6. The main living areas and best views are upstairs.

If you rent upstairs only, you also have access to the laundry with washing machine and an extra shower/toilet, which is ideal for rinsing off after coming off the beach. You also have access to the downstairs garage, which houses the table tennis table and outdoor dining furniture.

The house provides comfortable, self-contained accommodation for 2 or 3 families or a group of friends holidaying together. You may choose to split your group between the top and bottom parts of the house, but Nuns Beach House sleeps a maximum of 12 IN TOTAL. It is most comfortable and suitable for groups of no more than 6 adults and 6 children.

Please note that the house is not usually rented to large groups of young adults under 25 years and no parties of any kind are permitted at the house. Regrettably, Nuns Beach House is not suitable for dogs. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property.

Top Floor: Main living areas and 4 bedrooms.

You enter the house via the garden path that leads off the 2^nd driveway.

The front door opens up directly into the open plan living area.

• Queen bedroom – queen bed, built-in wardrobes, ceiling fan, garden outlook
• Triple bunk bedroom – single over double bed, built-in wardrobe, desk, ocean views
• Single bedroom – single bed in area outside triple bunk bed room, door to corridor, built-in wardrobe

Outside:

• Alfresco dining for 6 people.
• Gas barbecue

Ground floor: Overflow accommodation for large groups with 2 bedrooms.

Enter via the laundry door, which opens to the back garden.

• Rumpus room – large sofa and chair, TV, DVD player
• Spacious main bedroom – queen bed, additional single bed, tallboy, clothes rail
• Second bunk bedroom - single bed over double bed
• Bathroom – shower, sink, toilet
• Laundry – front loading washing machine, sink, extra shower and toilet

For your convenience, there is a phone at Nuns Beach House, on which you may receive calls and make local calls. The telephone number at Nuns is 02 4471 5960.

Mobile phone reception in the house is not great; you may have to go up the driveway to the lane to make a call.

There is no broadband connection at the house. You can get limited internet connectivity via your phone in teh kitchen area. 

 

What we provide:

 

Pillows, doonas, doona covers, bath mats, tea towels

 

Linen and bathroom towels are available for hire at $20pp.

It may not be possible to fulfil requests at very short notice.

Fees for linen hire must be paid into the same account as the balance and bond BEFORE your arrival at the house.

Please note that we do not supply beach towels.

 

Tea towels, washing up liquid, other cleaning materials and an initial supply of toilet paper.

 

What you need to take:

 

Top and bottom sheets, pillow cases, bathroom and beach towels.

Please note that it is a health requirement that all guests use top & bottom sheets and pillow cases.

Guests may be charged additional cleaning fees if they do not use top & bottom sheets and pillow cases.

 

It is also a good idea to take: mosquito repellent, matches, a torch.

 

Arrival/Departure:

 

You may arrive at the house after 4pm and departure is before 11am.

We may be able to give you a slightly earlier arrival time and later departure provided we do not have any guests leaving or arriving on the same day. Please enquire at the time of booking.

 

If you would like an extended departure time to 5pm, there will be an additional $100 fee.
